Wonders of the full moon!

November 22, 2020 by

Every month we celebrate a new moon. I had heard the terms “Harvest Moon” & “Once in a Blue Moon” but was clueless that every full moon is celebrated with a unique theme. That is, not until I read the delightful “Once in a Full Moon” by Carolinda Goodman. The brief stories of the Wolf Moon, the Strawberry Moon, the Sturgeon Moon & more bring new meaning to the night skies. And the gorgeous illustrations by Mariia Luzina nicely interpret what we learn in the stories. A great nature book to pique the imagination of ages 3-5, for parent & child to enjoy together or for story time at the library.

Beautiful book for children of all ages

November 17, 2020 by

This is an excellent book about the full moons of each month.
Beautifully illustrated with age appropriate rhyming verse. You will
love snuggling next to your child or grandchild to teach them about
the different full moons. I learned something myself and now when I say
to my grandchildren, “I love you up to the moon,” they will know exactly what I’m talking about.
Well done Carolinda!!!

Fun way to learn about the night sky.

November 15, 2020 by

I love this little book! I can’t wait to share it with my young grandson as we, together, learn the names of the moons. The rhyming text and rich illustrations are beautiful; they make me want to visit the night sky more often.
I bought a bunch of the books to give to my grandparent friends.

“Once in a Full Moon” is a great book for kids

November 11, 2020 by

I think that this book will help encourage children to look up at the night sky and really see the moon.. Children will enjoy the book because it teaches about the different phases of the moon in an easy to understand month-by-month way. The poetic verse is soothing to read and perfect for bedtime. Wonderfully illustrated.
I give the book 5 stars and recommend it as a perfect gift for curious minds.

Beautifully written and illustrated. A wonderful journey of reading to take as a child or adult. It is on my list of Christmas gifts to give this year. Lovely!
